One Address.Many Miles Later.
Why 47? 47 is the founder, Kunal Jain's home address in Agra, where an early introduction to large open spaces and the outdoors sparked a fascination with birds, insects and other wildlife. While kids his age were busy playing cricket, you would find Kunal climbing trees to observe the eggs in a bird's nest, rescuing fledglings fallen from a nest, and taking care of orphaned squirrel pups.

After years in finance and consulting across New York, Dubai and Singapore, Kunal took a sabbatical in 2014. Working with the Wildlife Conservation Society and the Centre for Wildlife Studies in the forests of South India became the starting point for everything that followed. He then travelled across various national parks and personally encountered the huge gap between what was promised and what was actually delivered. In 2018, he started his own travel company, 47Safaris (formerly travelwith.in), focusing on wildlife tourism the way it should be — based on first-hand knowledge and zero surprises.
Our first safari offering was on the Chambal River and remains one of our signature experiences. Its most iconic resident, the critically endangered gharial crocodile, has stayed with us ever since.

Kunal is a trained naturalist and wildlife photographer who personally leads safaris for select guests along with his local team. When not crafting itineraries and leading safaris, he engages with embassies, schools, and professional networks on responsible wildlife tourism.
47Safaris has been recognised among the top 5% of Outdoor Activities on Tripadvisor and has received the Travellers' Choice Award in 2020, 2023, 2024, 2025 and 2026.

How We TravelShapes What We See.
47Safaris is built around the conviction that there is no substitute for first-hand knowledge. Every destination is personally surveyed and vetted by our team; every hotel and safari is carefully chosen.

Our naturalists
We know that there's nothing like spotting a tiger in the wild. But the guests who get the most out of our safaris are usually the ones who leave the forest with a curiosity about everything else: the alarm calls and the prey species, the birdlife and the way the forest changes with every season. Our naturalists and guides feed that curiosity. We work with a network of local specialists across India who visit the forests on a regular basis and also have a good command of the English language.
Our hospitality partners
Where you stay matters for the same reason. In owner-managed luxury hotels with whom we collaborate, you have interesting conversations well after the game drive — conservation, land use, communities, local cuisines and customs are discussed and relished over a winter bonfire. Here are some of our award-winning hospitality partners.
The forestowes us nothing.
Wildlife operates on its own terms. We love to show you the jungle as is, with patience and respect for its natural rhythms. We do not encourage wildlife tourism practices that interfere with natural behaviour. These are practices that we often encounter in our industry, are asked about, and we politely decline. They include elephant rides, feeding, baiting, petting animals and call playback.
