“While I am not typically one to go for organized tours, Kunal and his team converted me into a believer with this trip. There is no doubt that I would have never found out about this place or be able to have such a great smooth experience without their expert guidance and planning. I have travelled a fair bit around India and still I never knew such places existed near Kota, Rajasthan. We were taken to some truly remarkable places and got to see real untouched natural beauty. Kunal has clearly spent time to ensure our local hosts and guides were knowledgable, courteous, and thoroughly professional. The small group size allowed us to make lasting friendships and be flexible with the itinerary as required. I cannot wait to make the next trip with Kunal and team.”

“Chambal is a myth. A villainous, venomous valley painted in bullet-belted khaki by Bollywood Gabbars, a land barren and dangerous and full of empty expanses. Why would anyone go to Chambal? And there began the quest. Kunal's curated experience of the wild wild [mid]west came as a brow raiser. What spectacled teen population of Kota had dared to look up from their civil services books into the far horizons where lay the richest flora, fauna and history of the Chambal Valley? The adventure sounded too rare to pass.”

“We went with Kunal to Kota, Rajasthan, along with a group from the Boy Scouts of America. This was a fantastic time that he arranged for — the Chambal River Safari, the hikes through the National Park, and more! And the pictures that he took of the birds that we saw, and shared with the boys afterwards — beautiful! Thanks for a fantastic trip!”

Frequently asked questions.
November to March is the season — pleasant weather on the river and the best raptor activity. Summers on the Chambal are very hot.
The gorge and its birds of prey are best in the softer light of morning and late afternoon.
Yes. Every motorboat is checked and maintained, each safari carries a boatman and a naturalist, and life jackets are worn at all times on the water.
Marsh crocodiles, a wealth of raptors — Bonelli's and booted eagles, peregrine falcon, the dusky eagle-owl — and, on the banks and cliffs, a chance of leopard and sloth bear. The Garadia Mahadev gorge and the Baroli temples add real drama. Sightings depend on the day.
