Kaziranga is best from November to April. The park opens in October, but from May the monsoon swells the Brahmaputra and floods most of the park, closing it through the rains. Early in the season the grass is still tall; by mid-winter visibility is excellent and the weather is beautiful.
The best months fill early, so it is worth planning your permits and lodge well ahead.
Always private. You have your own jeep, your own driver and your own naturalist. Kaziranga's safari windows are also longer than most Indian parks — roughly 7:30 to 11 in the morning and 1:30 to 5 in the afternoon — which gives you real time in the field.

It holds the world's largest population of the one-horned rhino, and beyond the Big Five you'll find hoolock gibbons, hornbills, otters and outstanding birdlife.
