Satpura is open from October through June. The canoe and boat safaris are best done early in the season, when the Denwa river has plenty of water after the monsoon. Jeep safaris are organised throughout the season. Winters are great for migratory birds and other fauna, whereas the summer months are dry and chances of spotting megafauna are higher.
Satpura's variety of activities makes it rewarding across the whole season.
Satpura is one of the tiger reserves in India where you can do a canoe and a boat safari. In the past you could also walk in Satpura's core with a team from the forest department, but that experience has recently been stopped.
Satpura is an easy four-hour drive from Bhopal airport. We can arrange a pre-booked taxi, and can even include a guided tour of the Bhimbetka rock paintings en route.
