“Recently we asked Kunal Jain to organize a trip to a tiger reserve. He could have easily recommended and set up a visit to the more popular and more expensive Ranthambore, but he listened to our description of our priorities and needs and recommended the less well-known Pench instead (Maharashtra/Madhya Pradesh). He was spot on. It's a great location, a bit less crowded and we saw tigers on two out of the four safaris we took! The non-tiger outings were fabulous as well, with tremendous bird life, wild boars, and multiple species of deer and elk not to mention beautiful natural scenery. Not too many places in India can you gaze across a quiet and empty landscape! The accommodations he arranged were comfortable without being ostentatious.”

“Kunal Jain arranged a trip to Pench National Park for us in Nov 2019. We were a group of 30 children with special needs and 15 adults. Kunal made it a memorable trip for us. He took very good care of us and ensured that we all had a very fantastic time. He bonded so well with our students that they missed him a lot on coming back to Mumbai. The safari was fabulous. Pench is open from October to June. Megafauna such as tigers, sloth bear, leopards, wild dog and gaur can be spotted throughout the season. While the winter months are chilly and can be enjoyed next to a cosy bonfire, the summer months are hot but, for many, very rewarding in terms of wildlife sightings.
The best months fill early, so it's worth planning permits and lodge well ahead.
We recommend a three-night, four-day holiday in Pench. That way you get to do at least four safaris and increase your odds of spotting large mammals and other fauna. If you're exclusively focused on photography, then up to eight safaris is recommended.
Most travellers fly into Nagpur, around two hours away, and drive in. Pench pairs naturally with Tadoba or Kanha. We arrange a pre-booked taxi and all transfers.
