Other than the monsoon season, in July and August, Tirthan Valley is open for guests. The winter months of December and January get cold — but not when you're around a cosy bonfire.
Spring is when the flora and fauna are most active, ideal for birdwatchers.
In Tirthan, guests can do angling (catch and release), go on guided single-day or multi-day hikes in the Great Himalayan National Park, visit ancient villages with their unique local architecture and customs, go birdwatching, or take a dip in the Tirthan river in the warm summer months.
The fastest way to get to Tirthan Valley is to fly to Bhuntar airport in Kullu, from where the valley is a two-hour drive. However, flights to Bhuntar tend to be very expensive, so please check on that before making your travel plans. Another alternative is to fly or take the train to Chandigarh, which is then a six to eight-hour drive depending on what time you leave the city. We arrange all ground transfers through our network of reliable taxi vendors.
